House Concerts: Sample E-Mail InvitationHello Everyone,It is my great pleasure to invite you to my house for an evening of intimate song with Thom Barker in support of Thom's new CD Twice the Usual. Two 45 minute musical sets will include "unplugged versions of all the songs from the new album, as well as, selections from Thom's first CD The Forest for the Trees and a smattering of cover tunes by some of Thom's favourite artists. His house concerts are warm, intimate and personal, and always FOR the audience. Today, most of us are accustomed to concerts where the performers are either inaccessible, or where the environments, such as bars etc. dilute the concert atmosphere. I feel the great potential in the House Concert is to provide a refreshing contrast where artist and audience can mingle, socialize, where a relationship can grow, allowing independent artists and future audiences an opportunity to develop a living arts scene in their community. The concert will last about two and a half hours, with two 45 minute sets and a 20-25 minute intermission. I have some chairs, but they will go quickly, so please bring either a folding chair of your own or perhaps a comfy pillow. I hope to see you as we share artistry among neighbours.
